Cerclage anyone?

I went in for my anatomy scan on Thursday and they found out that my cervix was very short and I had also begun to funnel. I went in for surgery yesterday and it all went well. I was given a spinal tap, which by the way has left my back completely sore, to numb me. Those who have had a cerclage, what was your experience? Were you on bed rest and how far along did you make it until it was removed? Thanks!

I’m currently 22 weeks but had a cerclage places at 11 weeks. I started to funnel the night before my procedure so it was done just in time. The morning of I was given something for nausea, then wheeled into surgery. I’m told the procedure lasted 30 minutes with 30 minutes of recovery time,  but I don’t remember anything. It was a breeze. Afterwards no pain at all. No bedrest was prescribed, but I put myself on bedrest  for 5 days. I had light bleeding for 2 days after but no bleeding since. I’ve had 2 anatomy scans since then and everything is fine, the cerclage is still in place. I was also placed on progesterone suppositories last month as a precaution since I’m high risk.  supposedly they are just a precaution to further strengthen my cervix. I haven’t had any further issues. Faith and prayer work! Blessings upon blessings to you and your little one. 👶🏽💙

Not me, but my mom had this for both my brother and I. 
She had lost a baby in the second trimester before me due to an incompetent cervix. After ~20 weeks in her other two pregnancies she had one inserted, and carried both my brother and I to full term. She was induced with me because her doc was going out of town at 38 weeks, and made it until almost 40 with my brother.  Water broke at home with my brother and he came about 30 minutes after making it to the hospital. 
It worked out well for my mom, and allowed her to have two healthy children. She did have some instances of my brother trying to come early, but the docs were always able to stop it and she was back at work within a few days.

I will be getting one if my pregnancy continues. I am 15 weeks but have been having severe bleeding 😖 I have had a cerclage 3 times before.

hi mama what do they mean by funnel? my last doctor had told me my cervix was short so this time aroumd im worried of i might need one.
