When was your dilation checked?

I go for my 38 week appointment this week and I'm curious if they'll check dilation. I don't really care either way, but I'm curious if they might do it. On one hand, it'd be interesting to know, but on the other hand I've heard it's painful and I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything and you can be dilated to 5 for weeks without labor. I've also read something on here about risk of infection.
When was your dilation checked?

Mine started checking at 37 weeks and checks at every weekly appt after that.  37 weeks I closed and softening up.  38 weeks I was 60% effaced and 2 cm dilated.

Mine was checked at 37, he didn't check at 38 but next Thursday (39 week appt) he is going to check and sweep the membranes 😊atleast something to look forward to getting this baby out!

mine asked id I wanted it checked at 36 w 4d. I said yes since he was already down there for the step b swab lol. Idk if he is this week or next.

My midwife checks at the 39 week appointment (and I’m assuming any ones after that). Wasn’t painful at all!

The first time the doctor checked me is yesterday. I was 38 weeks and 6 days

I just had mine checked today at 39+2. I refused since 37 weeks, because i had heard it was super painful. Honestly, it's not. It feels no worse than having a pap done. I will definitely have her check it again if I make it to my 40+2 appointment.

I was checked at 35weeks and Monday will be my 38 week appt. and I'm looking forward to being checked and asking for a membrane sweep

I just had mine checked (36+3) and I was 1cm and soft but still high. He said they usually only check if asked. I plan on getting mine checked again at my next appointment (38 weeks) I didn’t think it was bad but when I had mine checked with my first, it did hurt more.

I was checked at 36. It's uncomfortable to be checked, mostly just pressure. Just breathe through it and try not to clench up.

I was checked at 37 and nothing just soft. Then 38 and 1cm and soft. My midwife dont give me a %though lol. Next appointment thursday :)
