So ladies I am 29 weeks 6 days just got diagnosed with gd well doc says he plans on inducing me a weeks or 2 weeks prior to my due dec 19 th how many weeks were you ? With your lil one 💕And what should I

expect 👍🏽

My doctor said she plans to let me go to 40 weeks unless the baby is growing too big or I encounter any complications. I always think it’s weird that doctors plan inducing without seeing how mom and baby are the pregnancy progresses.

I have it horrible this time around 4th pregnancy... lost 20lbs and still have to have insulin5x a day so at 32 week or 34weeks she will do an ultra sound an see how big baby is an see how her lungs look and decide if shes going to take her at 37weeks or 39 weeks

I have GD and I am trying to go natural. as long as my baby keeps measuring right on tract I don't think it should be a problem. You can tell your doctor you don't want to induce if that's not something you want! I wouldn't induce unless it was measuring larger than normal but make sure you remember that you have a choice! doctors like inducing because they can fit you into their schedule as they please.

Hi super mommies!
This is my 7th baby, and my 3rd with gestational diabetes. All of my babies have hovered around 10 pounds (9-12 to 10-5). I have had all successful vaginal deliveries, 4 out of the 6 without any pain meds. So do not be scared or worried you can do it! I attribute all of my successful births to my body being ready for baby to come! My last one was an induction at 40 weeks 1 day. I was 4cm dilated when they started the induction. It was my most pleasant labor and delivery! 
In my humble opinion carefully weigh in and discern all of the important professional opinions and advice of your care provider! Then listen and watch your body carefully for that signs that you and baby are ready for the big day! You don't have to do exactly what Dr. says every time and you don't want to make a fearful/emotional decision either. Carefully consider all:)

Wow we have the same exact due date and I also have GD and my doctor wants to induce me at 39 weeks !!! I been walking a lot and eating healthier. I lost weight from my last visit and hope to keep loosing weight I want to have my baby normal and not be induce . So if baby is measuring good this coming weeks I'm going to tell my doctor I want to have my baby normal.

I think they do that because your baby can get really big  when you have gestational diabetes ... I'll be 30 weeks tomorrow and got diagnosed with gestational diabetes about 2 weeks ago.. they're just making me take my sugar four times a day... I had high blood pressure with my first pregnancy and they induced me a couple days early.. this time my blood pressure is normal but my doctor is still going to induce me a day before my due date but she said that's because of the risk of my blood pressure potentially going up... I get monthly ultrasounds though to measure the growth of this baby to make sure she doesn't get too big.. I'm assuming if she starts getting too big they'll induce me earlier

I had GD with my second and my first was 9 pounds so my doctor induced at 39 weeks. I don't officially have GD with this baby but my numbers were super high so I have to follow the diet. I will be induced at 39 weeks again.
