Boyfriend did nothing for our anniversary!?

We have been together a year and live together (I moved out of state to be with him, we are both 24) and on our one year anniversary he didn't do anything, he just watched sports all day and told me that it's not a big deal because 'it's not like we are married or anything'. It really hurt my feelings because I had gotten him a gift and felt like it was a special day and he barely talked to me at all. I don't know what to do because it has been getting worse, things have became very one sided with me doing all of the work. Help?
