All women should do what is best for them and their families. Recent studies have shown that the advantages of breast feeding have actually been overstated in the past. Good to know that if you can't or don't want to breast feed, your baby will grow just as healthily using formula. Breast to start. Then after a few weeks, breast during waking hours and formula at night. After I go back to work, formula while I'm gone and breast when I'm home. Allows me to keep my sanity and get dad involved in feedings.

I plan on doing both! I really don't want to be stuck pumping every time I need to leave a bottle for the baby or even if I want my husband to be able To give him a bottle in the middle of the night. I will be going back to work when he is about 3 months old and know that he will need to be able to happily take a bottle rather than only the breast. I have a hand pump that I will use if I need to express more milk or if I over produce I can at least pump a bottle or two if I need to. I feel that being a new parent will be hard enough and my husband and I feel that it is important to do what not only works for us but also for our son. My husband wants to be able to feed him too and I definitely do not want to be sat always pumping bottles every day for him to have this bonding time. We need to be more flexible. X

I'd breastfeed again. I still nurse my son at 22 months but am currently trying to wean.

I tried BFing with my first 3 and I just really lacked the knowledge to make it work. So w/ my 4th I was determined I WOULD, no try about it (that's just how I work). I read everything I could. I BF that one until 3 yrs. it was great and I can't wait to BF my next.

My son was born at 32 weeks. I really wanted to breast feed him, and hand expressed for 72 hours. From both breasts combined I only managed to express 0.5ml of milk. And that was expressing every hour, even through the night. So he was formula fed. I'm pregnant with #2 ATM, and the plan is to once again try to breast feed - but I only will if I get to full term. I had to many other things to remember and stress about to be having to express milk every hour x

breast feed till they're a year old

I am planning to breast feed as long as possible. My goal is 8 mo. If I make it there, then a year. If I make it to the baby being a year, I'll stop at 2 years.

I am going to formula feed. When I was pregnant with baby #1 I tired to breast feed and it didn't go well. He would only eat from once side and not for every long so I did end up using formula then I got an infection and had to stop. But it ended up being better in the long run because my son ended up needing to be on soy formula. I know it was frustrating for me and I am sure for him. So I have decided to formula feed this time to just to save the time of frustration and make sure my baby gets consistent food all the time.
