Cervical checks are not my favorite!

Monica

I realized some women are disastisfied with their providers because they won't do the cervical check to see how far they're dilated. I just had a bad experience and want to tell you that if possible, it's best to wait and forego this test because it is more for peace of mind than anything else. I'm 38 weeks and 6 days and went for my weekly check up today. After the cervical check was done, I started bleeding and my provider was a little surprised at the amount. Bleeding a little is to be expected but apparently it was a little more than the usual (I needed a pad). She was concerned and asked me to go the hospital to get a Non Stress Test (NST). I did and thankfully everything is fine. They sent me home and now I'm resting. It turns out I have a very sensitive cervix and prone to bleeding easily. Anyway, I'm still half a centimeter dilated like I was 3 weeks ago and of course that doesn't change anything. Anybody else have a similar experience?
