Brands?

Question

My baby boy is due in February and I wanna try cloth diapers. I've read alot into brands and inserts and all that good stuff but honestly I'm still a little lost in what is a good brand and what isn't. I've already bought a couple bum genus newborn diapers cause they seem to be a trusted brand but I would also like to know what is out there before buying more

rumparooz were the only brand we truly liked and valued....tried several other brands like thirsties and imagine...few other ones but none worked like our rumparooz. we used the covers and I used prefolds for the first several months, then I needed new prefolds and decided to try flour sack towels and LOOOOVED them...10/$7.99 at walmart...so cheap, soft and VERY absorbant....my son got potty trained at 18mo but only during day...so during sleep we use the bumgenius diapers cause I had extra that were gifted and I can stuff them and put them on easily without having to wrap them like typical diaper that he was used to. only thing is that I kinda HATE them for poop. if he goes poop, it doesn't hold it in well and ugh just a mess and gross unless it's totally solid....but for new baby's, I only trust the fst and rumparooz

I got Kawaii good night heavy wetters.  I really like them.  Kawaii has other kinds as well and deals if you want to buy in bulk.

bum genius are ok, but they are known to have elastics stretch out easily. so you can either replace the elastics yourself or if that's not your thing I would go with another brand. thirsties is a great quality brand made in the US. I also like lalabye, made responsibly in China. if you are going to do a newborn and one size stash, blueberry simplex newborns were one of my go to, as well as the thirsties natural all in one newborn. thirsties duo wraps are great too with inserts/prefold/flour sack towels

I prefer Alva during the day and Kawaii Heavy Wetter at night. I used Mama Koala for about a month, but the rise snaps are poor quality and we experienced leaking after a month, probably due to improper fit since the snaps won't stay closed. I've also used Happy Diapers and they are poor quality, leak after a couple of weeks, and don't have hip snaps. Alva is working great with no leaks, fits my chunky chunk well, and don't pop open randomly. My son can make it about 10 hours in Kawaii with no leaks at night.
