Flu shot?

My doctor is suggesting I get the flu shot.... I normally don’t do so because last time i did i ended up having the flu for like a week. What are your opinions please?

My opinion is to ALWAYS get the flu shot. They can't include every single strain of the flu in the vaccine, and it does evolve, so it's possible you caught the strain that was not in the vaccine that year. The flu is so freaking dangerous, especially to pregnant women. I've only had the real flu one time and it was the most miserable I have ever been. I THOUGHT I had had the flu before....I was so wrong. What I thought was the flu was a cold virus. The actual flu is so much worse and so much more deadly. There is literally NO real research that shows the risks being higher than potential benefit. I promise a ton of people will jump on here and start citing all sorts of "scientific" journals and blah blah that just PROVE how dangerous the flu shot is, but all of that "evidence" has been discredited and most dont even follow the standards for a basic scientific theory. Sorry, this is obviously something I feel strongly about. Ultimately, the decision is yours, but 99.9999% of doctors will tell you to get it because it is perfectly safe.

I've never had the flu shot...never had the flu...but I am getting the shot this year to protect the babe! it's just not worth the risk of getting it...being so sick could have serious lifelong impacts on the baby, or even cause a stillbirth

I just asked my doctor today if he thought I should get the flu shot now that I'm pregnant and he said if I wanted it, he would give it to me but in his opinion if I haven't been getting it over the years up until now, then don't start - do what you are most comfortable with!

Never had it before and got it yesterday. My dr highly recommended it to me so we did it.

I'm getting it but waiting until Halloween so I'm definitely into 2nd trimester.   I'm 12 weeks today

I work with tiny children all day I'm at high risk for catching the flu. I normally don't get it but being pregnant and a daycare worker I think it was a good idea for me. Plus they usually say if you get the flu right after getting the shot you already had the virus.

I'm refusing the flu shot.. I don't vaccinate my children either and they haven't been sick not one time in almost three years... I wouldn't get it, especially if you haven't had it and you've been fine...💜
