How long to wait?

Question

I miscarried my first pregnancy this past Thursday at 6 weeks 4 days. A nurse with my obgyn's office said they recommend waiting at least one cycle before trying again. I read one of nurture's miscarriage articles that doctors recommend waiting anywhere from 1-3 cycles before TTC, but it's really only because they want to be sure the dates are right. Is there a medical reason to wait? I have no health problems, nothing in my family history or blood work to show a reason for it.

My doctor said there is no real medical reason to wait it's more of a mental/emotional readiness.

No one told us anything about waiting and I even told my midwife/obgyn that we waited like a week, to make sure I wasn’t in pain after my D&C;, and had intercourse to try again. She said nothing to me except about my blood sugars needing to stay grounded.

my ob. told me they reccomend waiting for one cycle just to me sure how far along the pregnancy is. but that i could try when ever i was ready good luck and sorry for your loss

I got pregnant 1 cycle after waiting. Only advice I have is yes your dates could be off. I'm measuring 1-2 weeks behind because my miscarriage. Good luck & baby dust

My dr. recommend waiting for dating and since I had a d&c; to have a thicker uterine lining. Well I'm pregnant again 13 weeks and didn't wait that cycle he also said waiting is more mental healing that he's seen lots of pregnancies go to term that started right after a miscarriage.

My doctor and OB all said to wait one cycle before trying, and I think your body does need time to heal, especially after a d&c.; My first period wasn’t normal - I don’t think my body was ready yet. I’ve just been through my second cycle and it was much more like a normal period, so I’m hopeful this will be our month. I’m sorry for your loss - take care of yourself.

I just had a miscarriage at 10 weeks and a D&C; this past Thursday. They told me to wait at least 4 weeks as your uterus isn't ready for a pregnancy before that  and those pregnancies don't usually do well. She said I could ovulate in a few weeks before a period to come and to be careful. I plan to wait until my period comes.

I just had a d&c; last Monday Oct 2 stopped bleeding immediately except few days after bleed very light just had sex tonight also I have been taking hpt to see levels going down and today was lighter than past week so we did it also I have had cm I doubt I'm ovulating but we did anyway will be ttc from now on every other day!!# good luck . I have been reading no reason to wait other than dating purpose. baby dust

I was at my first appointment at what was supposed to be 9 weeks and baby stopped growing at 6 weeks with no heartbeat. I didn’t pass baby naturally until 11 weeks. I would now be 13 weeks now and my levels were at 498 Monday. My dr told me not to try until after my next period which would be when my levels are around zero as I would shed the lining of my uterus and then we would be good to go. Hope this helps!

My dr said wait for a regular period. The only purpose is dating a new pregnancy.
