Are there any STDs that cause severe itching and welts all over the body ?

Yeesh. Not that I know of. But an allergy might do that...

Could be hives from an allergic reaction. My hubby just went through something similar. Hives, facial swelling...turns out he has developed an aspirin allergy. See a doctor. Benadryl plus Tagamet helped him for mild reactions (doc recommend Tagamet...it is a stomach med but apparently helps with allergies too) but when he has a serious reaction he needs a steroid shot...now we've identified the allergy though he can avoid it. You might have your doc run an allergy panel.
