Couple Vacation or BABY?

Soooo there was a couples vacation planned for April 2018, we totally knew we couldn’t afford to go. Nor did we want to be away from our son we already have for a week. THEN someone gave us 2k to go towards it. We still have $800 to pay, but have time. 
We’re so conflicted. Because we had no intentions of going. And while I’m sure it would be fun, we’re the only parents in the group. So no one understands how hard it is to be away from your child that long. And we REALLLLLLY want another baby. And yeah we could wait until after Cancun, but we want them as close in age as possible and the 2k that’s been paid on it is still refundable and we could really use that money for something else. 
So do we spoil ourselves on an all expenses paid, all inclusive week trip to Cancun Mexico and put off having a baby OR do we say ‘screw it’ we wanna baby, let’s have one????

I always tell my husband vacations and time away together are important as a couple. It's a week away from your son - he'll be taken care of...and there's face time and email. Every resort has wifi now. Take the time to enjoy your husband and step away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. If it were me - we'd go. But you're the only one who can make that decision and do what's best for you.

I’m n January 2016 we decided to wait trying for a baby when a trip opportunity came up for November 2016. I was a little disappointed but was also excited for our trip. We started trying again at the beginning of November, had an amazing trip and found out we were December 22. For us it is was worth it! But only you can decide what’s best for you guys.

Well no one can make that choice for you guys except you, but I can say that I would be incredibly angry if the money I spent on an all paid vacation was refunded and used for something else.

I completely agree with the comment above. Although you're the only one that can make that choice, I would be highly upset to know that the amount of money I had put towards a nice vacation went to to something else. I feel like if you're not going to go, you need to return that money. On the other hand, the vacation is only a week. I think you can wait one to week to begin trying for a baby, or better yet, use that amazing one on one time with your SO to try for a baby!

The money wasn’t given to us FOR the vacation. And y’all don’t exactly know that situation for it to make sense. But it’s called an “anonymous blessing” which we received in front of one of the couples going. I figured out who it was from. And called him to thank him and he said we could use it on what we wanted because he knew we were struggling. That he just wanted to bless us & if that means we go to Cancun we can and if not that’s up to us. So since that seems to be everyone’s issue, maybe that’s cleared up now.

We recently went to Mexico for our wedding and wanted to TTC soon but was told due to Zika risk we would have to wait 6 months to try or do a blood test because it can live in the male sperm that long. 6 months was a LONG time to wait if you want to get started on your family. Is it possible you do a closer trip and use the money on a vacation where you can take your son with you? I agree with the comment about you not being able to enjoy your time if your too upset about not being with your baby.

cankum Mexico can wait. u will not enjoy your vacation because u will b thinking about your little one all the time. I would say plan your family now and have all the vacations in the future when babies are all grown and can take care of themselves even when you are not around
