To buy ovulation sticks or not?

Hello 👋🏼 37 years from London - 
We’re only just starting our journey to try for our first baby. 
I’ve been told by friends to buy ovulation sticks in order to conceive but concerned I am putting too much pressure on us when we should be enjoying this time together. 
What are your thoughts out there x

I didn’t I just followed what Glow said. I find it very demanding, taking temperature, testing and all. I couldn’t but you can if you are up for it.

I'm so cheap so I didn't wanna use them... but my husband is making me use the strips because he says it's worth it! You do a lot less guessing if you are using these strips!

I just started using them and have found them useful because it showed that I'm ovulating very soon. I like having the information and being able to narrow down the best days to BD. My periods are a little irregular so Glow isn't going to be spot on.

I like the reassurance they give you. It's also useful if you are having a busy month you know when too bd the most. I recommend that you start with the digital ones it's less stressful in terms of taking out the guessing

Personally, I like them. I don't like doing all the other stuff, temperature tracking, monitoring etc. as it just gets too much. But I find the glow calendar isn't always accurate. And since I'm 36, I want a bit of pressure since I'd like this to happen sooner rather than later :) But I actually find this takes the pressure off in a way? Because we know we're doing it at the right time, so it's reassuring I guess. Not explaining this very well sorry!
If you do use them, I'd recommend the digital ones, so much easier and takes the guesswork out! It became a fun thing with my hi scan and I, I'd tell him hey I got a smiley face this morning (it shows a smiley when your fertile), and he'd know if he wanted to put the moves on me that evening it would be well received hah. Or if I wanted to he'd be receptive. But if neither of us did, then we didn't. It wasn't a "we must have sex right now because I'm ovulating ahhh!" type thing....it was more just having that reassurance that we were timing it right. And we have sex outside of that time too! We just make sure to hit a couple times at least during the window

If you have regular cycles there’s no need. I didn’t for my first baby (who is now 18mths), but as my periods are irregular now because of breastfeeding, I’d been using the OPKs this time round TTC. I find it gets obsessive, stressful and takes the fun out of it a bit compared to just going with the flow and doing it every 2-3days during your higher fertile times... good luck!!!
