Birth Control Implant- Nexplanon

Ch

Charity

I was just wondering if anyone has the implant, if they've had any side effects, etc. Also, where it is available. I am from Canada and my doctor hasn't even heard of it.

I am curious because I had major complications with an iud in the past and want a form of birth control that lasts years without taking a pill everyday!

Appreciate your help!

I hated it with a passion. I had it implanted after my miscarriage laylst june, and had it removed in November because I was on my period for the entire time! I was also a moody bitch, and cried alllll the time. The second I had it removed and went back on the pills everything was back to normal. Do not get it! It's not worth the pain !

I have had the Nexplanon implant since the end of February. My arm was a little sore for a couple days, I was very emotional for the first couple of weeks while my body adjusted to the hormones, but aside from those things I love it. I have not had any weight gain, I spotted for the first week or so but have not had a period since then. It is different for everyone though. If you get it and decide you don't like it, you can always have it removed at any time! As for where to get it, not of much help. But good luck!!

I have had it since September I love that I don't have to worry about tempering to take a pill BUT I do notice I lost weight on it and the worse side affect being i get a period everyday unless im on a birth control pill on top and unfortunately the dr says I can't continue doing this and nigh have to remove it (so inconvenient) I see the dr this week about my options so hopefully we can figure it out rather than removing it. Good luck and God bless

I had mine for a year and had it removed after more than a few doctors appointments, blood tests, etc. for the following reasons:1. Weight gain. I gained 25lbs out of nowhere, that I am still working on losing since its been out.2. Chest pains. No history of heart problems and they started within a month of getting my nexplanon. Sharp pains that would last minutes at a time with no time frame of how often they were happening. 3. Breast tenderness. 24/7, hurt all day, with or without a bra. My boyfriend couldn't touch themWithout me cringing. 4. Acne. I broke out all the time, in random places & it never went away until after I had it removed.*even though I had a bad experience, please remember that every woman's body is different and your experience may be better (or worse). Definitely inform yourself fully of the positives and negatives before considering this birth control. I liked it at first since there was no management and it lasts years, but for my body it just wasn't working out. * ✌🏻️🙌🏻

I actually broke out the entire time on both of my implants, and now that you mention it, I haven't had a breakout since!

I'm from Ireland and had mine back to back for 6 years only had one issue with it one time I had 6 weeks of non stop bleeding the doctor put me on the pill and it stopped and never happened again.Five of my friends have it or had it and all have varying opinions.  If I needed another three years of birth control I would get it again without hesitation.

I'm from the U.S. I've had the implant for two years now and haven't had any problems. I love it, I only get my period once or twice a year and it's usually very light and only lasts about two days!

My daughter in law was hospitalized with pulmonary emboli, could've killed her. They also found multiple blood clots in her legs. She's 21 and on blood thinners for another 6 months before they can even take it out. Hospital said the bc you are asking about caused it. She also now has $30,000 in hospital bills and no insurance! She is a non smoker, non drinker.

I had it and hated it. I broke out really bad all over my face and back, was hungry all the time and bled nonstop for the year I had it in. As soon as it was taken out my acne cleared up in a week or so, my period stopped and my never satisfied hunger disappeared.

Hi, I'm from the US. I got mine on October of 13 and hate it. I bleed more than any woman should and I've started getting violently I'll during and before my periods. My period usually lasts 8-9 days and makes life unbearable. My doctor recently informed me that its just a chemical imbalance and now taking pills every day to equal it out. It really makes it pointless.

I had it for a few months and my body basically rejected it. The site where it was implanted was discovered the entire time, no period, and felt horrible
