38 week induction?

37 weeks and 4 days here. 
I’ve been told from the start my baby was too small for how many weeks I am, as of now only weighs 6 pound. 
My oh today told me they want to schedule me for an induction for next week. Isn’t it too early? She didn’t tell me why or anything, can it be because my baby is too small.?

first of all 37 weeks is considered full term. Your ob is inducing you because your baby isn' t growing anymore and it could be a birth restriction due to your placenta, so they consider birth safer than keeping your baby inside till 40 weeks

Interesting - I was told the same with my first when I ended up in ER with a kidney infection at 7 months.  my baby was to small they were going to take her,  yada yada. when my doctor came he said not to worry,  some babies are big and some are small.  Both my kids were born 5lb 13oz, both born at 38 weeks.   I just make small babies. not saying this is your situation though.  Xoxo

Listen to your Doc, if baby isn’t growing anymore then there could be an issue in which case they are better out than in. Good luck 🙏🏻❤️
