Conception friendly lube - Applicator ouch

I have used the conception friendly lube tonight. One like pre-seed. It came in a little applicator that looks kinda like an enema. When I inserted it it kind of hurt. I had sex and now I feel a bit crampy. Is this normal? Also - any tips of using these applicators. I don't want it to hurt every time 😭
