Pooping?

Hey, mamas! My baby girl is 7 weeks old, and is EBF. She goes about every 7 or 8 days. Is this normal? I've heard it is AND I've heard it isn't. I'd love to hear from other moms that are nursing.

I think it can vary greatly depending on the baby. My son is EBF and 7.5 weeks old, and I change at least 10 soiled diapers a day.

According to the breastfeeding experts yes it is normal. Breastmilk is highly digestible so that’s why it’s normal. You can read more about it on kellymom.

Yup, it's normal! My daughter is EBF and pooped once a week until she was 6 months old and started solids, now she poops like 4 times a day.

My son did this for a while. When breastfed they use all the goodness. I took him to see a Pediatrician who said it’s normal up to 10 days for EBF babies. Boy did he make it up on the other day lol. It was great though! Unfortunately didn’t last too long for us, maybe a month. Probably to do with growth spurts etc :)

Yes, it’s normal for breastfed babies. 
My EBF daughter has always gone multiple times a day though lol. Even after starting solids 🤷🏻‍♀️ She’s 8 months now and still goes 2-4 times a day.

The lactation consultant I had at the hospital said that's normal. They're just absorbing every nutrient you're giving them. She said some babies go many times a day (like mine) and some go once a week.

Yes our pediatrician says they can go anywhere from every day to every 3 weeks. My son usually goes around day 5. Out longest gap was 9 days.
