when you are no longer interested in somebody, do you stop answering calls or do you tell them (which i already have & he doesn't seem to understand) or start being so sh!tty they can't deal with it anymore ! my mind is blown on how he's reacting

I tell them I am no longer interested. I had one that didn't get it and messaged me and after quick short answers from me they stopped. Months later he messaged me saying he now had his own place and asking how my life was. I said I was busy with work which was true, but he wanted to know about my dating life and I told him it was great even though I'm not seeing anyone and that seems to have stopped him. He was a man child almost 30 and didn't understand why I was not interested after realizing that my 17 brother was more mature than him.
