Best friend

My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship, we were talking today about what his plans were for going out with friends for his birthday. He told me he was disappointed his best friend and second best friend wouldn't be able to go and celebrate cause they live too far away. Without hesitation I thought it was his friends from college that live in other states. He then said oh and my third best friend wouldn't be able to be their either. At that point I was confused and asked who he was talking about. He said "I was just thinking about you and Alec, I forgot about Josh. I said "oh I thought you were talking about Alec and Josh" He said "No, you of course are my very best friend" That absolutely melted my heart cause he's never referred to me as his best friend and I didn't know he thought that. Hearing him say that made me love him a tiny bit more
