I’m bored and I’m watching The Golden Compass and for those who’ve never seen it or read the books, it takes place in a parallel world, where in their world, their soul is manifested outside of their bodies in the form of an animal that reflects their personality, these animals are called Daemons, and they are essentially your soul/your self in a separate body. In the books it talks about in different universes (like ours) some worlds have souls inside their bodies (like our world) and in other worlds (like the world in the book/movies) your soul is on the outside of your body. SO what do you think your daemon would be if we “lived in a parallel universe where our soul manifested separate from our own bodies”?

The author has said things like “if someone has a cat/feline daemon, they have more independent personalities, those with dog/canine (so anything from domestic dogs to wolves etc) Daemons are more likely to be servant/follower positions like maids, soldiers, police, etc. Intelligent people usually have bird daemons etc. What animal your daemon is relies solely on your personality and true self basically. The biggest crime is touching another persons daemon, even soldiers in war don’t touch their enemies daemons, and if you die your daemon dies and vice versa, and if you are hurt then your daemon feels your pain and vice versa. They are a total extension of yourself.

Also in the books it states that all daemons are the opposite sex of the human, unless that human is homosexual or has the gift of “second sight” (visions of the future type stuff).

They can be any type of animal, mammal, bugs, reptiles, birds etc.

So yeah I’m bored on a Thursday night and thought this might be a fun topic?
