Weapons in the bedroom?!

Do any of you ladies allow weapons in the bedroom? My fiancé is insisting that he be allowed to get a knife to keep by his bedside in case this ex husband of his mother's comes back.

I don't feel comfortable with it because I'm afraid he'll have a bad dream (he has PTSD) and he might hurt me by accident because of his quick reflexes. He says he's not crazy and I know that, but I really don't like knives in the bedroom. What would you do? Do you allow guns and knifes in the bedside table?

UPDATE: I'm Canadian so it's not likely that we'll ever get a gun. I'd appreciate comments from people who have a similar cultural background because it is more relatable. Literally no Canadian has guns in their bedroom. Any guns we have are for hunting and they are usually locked away in secret places.
