Dental hygiene and Navy?

My two dream careers are to be a dental hygienist, and also to serve my country. Right now, I’ve been applying to medical schools to become a dental hygienist, however, joining the navy has also been on my mind since high school. I’m 23 now. Is there anyway that I could do both? Would it be that easy?

If you go military have it written in your contract that you will be a dental hygienist corpsman. When you go corpsman you go to school and based on availability of jobs and year group is when/where you can branch out. Military is not for the faint of heart and I absolutely love being in but there are days where I wish I was a civilian. I would recommend trying Airforce. Their facilities are usually nicer and it seems (from peers and friends) that they are more compatible/Caring for family. Then Navy. Airforce and Navy have an amazing medical fields. Af and Army is great for PA. I digress, lol. Just be sure to research and ask for contacts of people who are in your position in the military!

Navy is sketchy for women. But my brother joined the Navy bc he was going to do pre-med in college and the Navy has the best medical programs for any specialties. Air Force is second best. 
So yes you can be a dental hygienist in the Navy.

You can definitely do dental hygiene in the Navy. I loved the Navy. That wasn't my field, but I know as a corpsman in the navy that's one of the areas you can work in.

I would not recommend the navy to women. Perhaps you could national guard and dental hygiene? I don't know enough about the national guard's education or programs though.
