How did you know labor was coming?

What were some signs that you knew labor was coming? Cramping? Pressure? Share your experience!

I started getting mild period-like cramps at 3 in the morning. Uncomfortable but not bad enough for me not to go back to sleep. After a few hours they turned into full on contractions.

I felt weird and then started getting mild contractions. They got stronger and stronger and closer and closer together until I called the doctor and went to the hospital. They broke my water there.

Contractions started at night. Could hardly walk anymore but has gone on a long walk that evening. This was w my last pregnancy.

With my first baby I didn't have any signs labor was close in the days leading up to it. I just woke up in the night having contractions. Similar to Braxton hicks but painful like period cramps. The contractions continued and got closer together so knew it was labour.

With my first I thought I needed to use the bathroom all morning until my mom told me those are contractions!  They got worse through the day until about 10 pm I couldn't take the pain anymore so we headed to the hospital. Second kid I knew what to expect and woke up with mild cramps in the lowest part of my belly. They also got worse and closer through the day.

I had a long early labor with my first which was frustrating. Basically I had 36 hours straight of regular contractions that were more annoying than anything, not very painful. During the last 12 hours the intensity of the contractions increased significantly and it was no longer a question if this was it. In general, you'll just know when its the real deal. I say in general because that isn't always the case, but typically you'll just know.
