How long does/did your newborn eat?

My baby is 5 days old and he only eats for around 7-10 minutes every hour to two hours. Is this enough? I feel like he’s always hungry but doesn’t eat for long enough

He may just be a very efficient feeder! My friends baby only nursed for 5 minutes at a time starting around a month old. He was a massive baby haha there was no doubt he was getting enough.

I don't think my son ever ate for more than 15 minutes at a time, It was usually 5-10.  and as long as he was gaining weight and having good wet diapers the Doc said not to worry, just feed him when he asks.

If he is having plenty of wet and poopy diapers, he is doing fine. My kiddo was always an efficient eater, too.  And it is normal and expected for a newborn to want to eat often. Congrats on your new baby!
