Is calling your S/O “daddy” appropriate?

I don’t understand why calling your S/O “daddy” is frowned upon but calling your S/O “babe” or “baby” is okay. If you have valid information about why people should just stick to “babe” or “baby”, please comment.

I mean I get it if you have daddy issues, but personally due to the fact that I’m a complete daddy’s girl and still at 21 call my dad “daddy”, I just find it annoying when people think it’s weird to call your own father that cuz we just have to sexualize and ruin everything in our society. But I mean, if you want to call them that, good for you, I just personally find the “daddy/little girl” fetish gross and annoying. But again, I understand it for those who don’t have relationships with their fathers.

The word “daddy” is what women back in the day used to call their S/O it wasn’t used for parents for a very long time. It was always “Father” or “Dad”. So it’s is appropriate, many people don’t know this though.

So many people are misinformed about daddy kinks and just the concept of calling your SO daddy as a nickname. It's not gross. He doesn't want to have sex with children. He's not your actual father. It's not promoting incest. In a dd/lg relationship your SO is called "daddy" signifying he is kind of like your caretaker. Honestly, if you don't like it, that's fine. But plenty of people have healthy relationships calling their SO daddy and it's seriously none of your business anyways. Sure I think that calling him that in certain public places is inappropriate but there's nothing wrong with it being a nick name or apart of a kink.

I hear you, but the only time I call my SO Daddy is in reference to our children 🤣 I teasingly called him Dr. Daddy recently, bc we saw it on an episode of Menendez Brothers story. The patient referred to her psychiatrist as Dr. Daddy. It was creepy. My husband has a PhD so I teasingly call him doctor when he’s being obnoxious and bossy.

I mean, I get that some people do it, but I find it gross. I grew up southern and around here everyone (myself included) calls/called their actual fathers "daddy/deddy" , so I just could never call my husband that. However, my bestfriend calls her actual father "daddy" and she also calls her boyfriend that sometimes. I call my husband "babe".. every single time I yell for him or speak to him. I always have.. and I've never called a child "babe" or "bae" or whatever. If I'm talking to or about a child I would reference "baby" , not "babe".

to each their own. I'll call my SO daddy whenever I want,but there is some places I don't do it cuz I don't feel like it's appropriate. in the end like I said before to each their own.
