Extreme cluster feeding?

My son is 6 days old and last night he started what seems like cluster feeding... he was nursing for about 4 hours straight with only short breaks in between. It happened again earlier today and now I’ve been nursing for almost 6 hours straight! Either I have to unlatch him to change his diaper or burp him or he will unlatch but then ten minutes later will want back on. I’m so tired and wondering if this is normal and how long this will last. I’ve broken down crying a few times because my nipples are so raw they are bleeding. I thought growth spurts didn’t happen until 3 weeks. I know he is getting enough because he has the right amount of diapers. Does anyone have experience with this? Wondering if I should try a pacifier even though I have been against pacifiers and bottles until 6 weeks
