Reasons you conceived now vs younger?

Question

My first will be at age 42- because I didn't marry until age 38, I live in a big city with a great career & wasn't ready to get pregnant. I'm happy to see such older mature moms these days, I cant imagine having kids in my teens or early 20's! Can you?! They are still babies. What are your thoughts!

I honestly was not remotely interested in having kids. I loved my life. I love my husband. We’ve been married since 2003 and we enjoyed it being just the two of us. I figured that if I️ changed my mind, I’d adopt if it was too late for me to have biological children. It wasn’t until I was about to turn 43 that my husband and I wanted to give it a try. We weren’t waiting for anything, we just didn’t want kids... until we did. Our first pregnancy was lost in the beginning of my second trimester due to trisomy 13. It broke my heart. While I️ wished my eggs were younger, I️ never wished that I️ was younger, if that makes sense. After that loss, We felt desperate to become parents and even paid to enroll in an adoption agency. Then I got pregnant 3 months later. I’m incredibly lucky. Right now, I’m 22w 4d and I’m in love with this baby. I’ll tell you what though, I have no regrets that we didn’t start until our 40s.

i am 22 and have 2 girls and pregnant with my boy.. me and my husband have been married since i was 19 he works as a sheet metallic in miami flordia and i have a day care. it isnt so much about age its about maturity!!

Tried for decades, with two different husbands, starting at age 20, in Feb. 1993.  1st positive pregnancy test 2009; lost baby at 9 weeks.  2nd positive 2012; baby born Jan. 2013- lived 39 days.  Feb. 2016- RE exam revealed I had NO eggs left - I was 43.  April 2016- IVF w/ donor eggs.  November 2016- awesome twin boys 34wks3ds ...... June 2017- took pregnancy test- before I was to start back on my fibromyalgia medication - POSITIVE !!!!  A frisky Mother's Day, led to quite a surprising Father's Day.  We are still in shock.  Due Super Bowl Sunday 2018 :-) .

You could have left out the bit at the end. I'm 24 with a 4 month old. We both have great jobs and own our own house. We're in a great place in our lives and it was the right time for us to have a family. I'm at my fittest and healthiest and my fertility is at it's peak. 
I couldn't imagine being a mother for the first time in my 40's for so many reasons including not getting as many years with my children and grandchildren. So think about that before being rude about younger parents.

I had my children at both age groups.  I first two boys at age 18 and 20. I was married to their father and my babies was the best part of my life! Their father and I divorced and I reared them on my own. I met and married my husband now 7 years ago. We both wanted more children, he had one daughter. At age 43 I gave birth to our son. My older boys are 27 and 25 now and am so thankful for them. I haven't seen any difference in when I had my first two at a younger age to having one at this age. Other than my energy level isn't like it was when I was younger.

I spent all of my 20s and the first 1/2 of my 30s not really ever thinking about whether I wanted kids or not. Life, career all we’re a higher priority and I figured I’d have time to figure that out... after I ended up in a long term relationship. 
Fast forward to my mid-30s and I came to the realization that I did want kids, if I could, but didn’t want to do it alone. 37-38 comes around and I’m still not in a serious relationship that’s leading anywhere and the kid question is nagging at me. But being a single mom, intentionally seemed like too difficult of a path. I had no role models (beyond people who were there unintentionally. 
It took some therapy/coaching, a lot of talks with a friend who decided to have her second baby on her own, and another year or so to recognize that I was going to regret not trying, all for lack of a partner! Given how independent I am and willing to buck social norms in other ways, I’m surprised in retrospect that it took me so long to come to that conclusion, but I’m glad I did. 
So at 39 I finally talked to my OB/Gyn and started getting fertility tests, told some close friends and family of my intentions, and then promptly broke my arm pretty badly. That set my plans back about 6-8 months. I finally started my first round of IUIs last late summer / early fall, had an ectopic pregnancy on my second try. It didn’t resolve on its own, so they gave me a mild form of chemo to target the dividing cells, hoping to avoid surgery. Well, the pain got worse and I had to have surgery anyway. The chemo, however, meant I needed to wait several months for the drug to clear my system before I could try again. 1 more failed IUI, 1 final IUI attempt, but there were no follicles on the side where I still had a tube. 
So this fall, at age 41.5, I switched to IVF and not only ended up with 7 high grade blastocysts, one of the two we transferred ended up implanting. I’m now, happily (though slightly nauseated) 8 weeks pregnant with my first baby!! It’s been a long journey, I’ve learned a lot about myself and my support network of friends and family along the way, and I know that my relationship with my child will be all the better for all the roadblocks along the way!

I had my daughter at 22 and I loved it. I am married and we own our own house and cars. I work full time and am in nursing school also. My husband works full time as well. Not every teenager or young adult matures at the same time frame. So while one 22 year old goes out and parties the other might long for a family. We struggled to get pregnant for 3 years thanks to PCOS. I think as long as you can provide for your child in a stable environment, it doesn’t matter what age. Plus, since I’m younger, that means I won’t be the age of my grandma when my child is 20. I’ll have already gone through the diapers and waking every night while you’re just starting mid-life cycle.

I was married at 30 and pursuing a second career when I realized I didn’t want kids with him. Then years later we were divorced and I met my current love about 4 years ago and knew I DID want kids with him.
