contractions?

Do contractions feel like the worst gas/poop pain you have ever had in your life? I woke up last night with these sickening pains that lasted approx 45 sec about every 10-20 min. They slowed down and eventually stopped. Thoughts?

Yes for me they felt like super intense gas pains combined with heavy period cramps..

I havent had any poop/gas problems, it was just a really intense pain that woke me from sleep and was cyclic for awhile, I know its not active labor but I am just trying to figure out if those were contractions. Because I KNOW it wasnt Braxton Hicks.

Early labor for me just felt like period cramps. Poop pains feel like a knife twisting your intestines. And active labor feels like your whole abdomen is going to collapse in on itself. But that's just me! If you find yourself able to pass gas it's probably gas pains.
