First period after stopping birth control extremely heavy??

I just stopped my birth control in September after 10+ years on the pill when my husband and I decided we are ready to start trying. This is my first period since stopping the pill and it’s torture! Such heavy flow, horrible cramps, insane migraines for 4-5 days leading up to the start of it. I never experienced this while on birth control and I don’t remember it being this bad before I was on the pill either. Is this normal or should I be calling my doctor? Ps - it also came one week early. I read that you typically ovulate around day 10-14 of your cycle but for me it was around day 6-7 (according to the home test) and now two weeks later I have my period so that makes it a 3 week long cycle for this month.
