I like my possibly gay friend.

I am a straight female, but I have an issue. As you can tell by the title, it is about me being in-like with my possibly gay friend. He is still unsure, but I also don’t want to make assumptions. This drives me crazy, because I don’t know, and don’t want to ask and seem rude.
