No Romantic Engagement Story...

We techinally got engaged on 09/19 & everyone's wondering how he asked... Well, we were laying down & got to talking about our future. He asked me when did I see myself getting married. I said 25 (just turned 23 this year). He said "I'll be 27 at that time." So I asked him what he imagined. "I hope to have settled down with a child by that time." Some silence passed between us. "Do you wanna get married next year?" Now we've already been together for three years. I was 19 & he was 21 (our birthdays hadn't passed). I got up & asked, "Really?" He said, "Yes." I asked him when & it took him awhile before responding... "October. Next October." So the next day he made pick the day. I picked the 26th. Afterwards, I told my family. A couple of days later he told his family. Then we told everyone else on social media. I wish it would have been romantic & sweet, but I knew I would be waiting. He's just not that creative. But he did ask & that was the best thing to me. Am I the only one who doesn't have a sappy story to share?
