Should I feel bad ?

Question

Gonna keep this simple... so I’m 20 years old and in a long distance relationship (only 2 hours). I go home just about every other weekend if not every weekend but some weekends I don’t tell my dad or family I’m going home. I stay with my boyfriend the whole weekend. Should I feel bad for doing this? I kinda have some guilt because I feel  wrong sorta. I love my dad he’s my world but I also like being with my boyfriend.

i will tell you something that i wish someone had told me 4 years ago... you stated your dad is your world, correct? well one day hes not going to be around anymore. one day hes not going be there to talk to or see.. i lost my dad janurary 2014. i regret every time i chose a boy over spending time with him and it eats me alive every damn day of my life. im not saying dont spend time with your bf. im simply saying make time for your dad now while you have the chance. id give my last breath to be able to talk to my dad one more time.. and to take back those days when i didn't call or stop by or whatever it was..

Oh my gosh this is similar to me... when l was at school (the first 3.5 years l didn't have a car, my last semester they let me have the one) l was driving back and forth, 2.5hrs each way, ALL THE TIME. Even in the middle of the week when l'd have work the next day at 7am... the reasons/situation why l did that were more intense, my family never fully understood and we never told them the truth about it. But l would do it and pray to God they wouldn't see me in town or l wouldn't break down along the way. One day l was rear ended as l was leaving to go back to university, no damage was done praise God but it could have been a lot worse... it hurt so much knowing my family would never understand why l did that, they judged my character everyday and they still do. It hurts everyday
I don't care the reasoning for you, l'm telling you do not do that to your family. The guilt will eat you alive. My grandpa had alzhiemers and l'll tell you what, my dad was by his side every day his last 3 years... l didn't realize how bad he was until it was too late. He wilted away to nothing, a literal corpse of skin and bones upon his death... I missed out on that time not only for my grandpa but for my dad and family as well. They eventually figured it out when they saw how many miles were on the car (which l knew would happen eventually). Don't be that person... don't be me. I can never get that time back. You will regret it one day, whether you stay together or break up, you will regret it.
We don't like to think about it, but death can happen to anyone at anytime, even the good and the young... my SO's mom passed away suddenly 3months ago in the middle of the night at 42... We have many, many regrets.

How about the weekends you spend with your boyfriend you just plan a couple hours of hanging out with your dad?

When I do stuff like this I always think "what is something happens to me while I'm over here." You know? You can't control what happens and say for instance something happens to you and your dad has to find out that way instead of you being honest with him.
