I don’t believe I got an extra stitch...and honestly I think the whole concept is rather offensive.I just grew and squeezed out a human, and my husband is concerned that my vagina won’t feel the same after doing so? Yes, it will feel different...but I’m not adding an extra stitch and possibly making my sex life more painful just so he can keep his tight pussy wife. Learn to live with my new body, just the same way I have new things to learn to live with.

So I read this AMAZING story called The Husband Stitch by Carmen Maria Machado and you can find it online on some website called like Grata or Granta if you google it. Anyways I later after reading the short story (100% recommend it, it’s something all women should read tbh), and I was googling articles and stuff read about it and came across the fact that the title of the story is actually referring to a medical procedure that doctors do.
Apparently there’s a lot of debate of if it’s real or not, but many women online have come forward that it is real. So anyways, if you have ever read that story what are your thoughts on it, and secondly, have you ever heard of the Husband Stitch and has it been done to you before?

I've had multiple guys tell me the doctors delivering their partners child told them after "Oh don't worry I added an extra stitch for you". Or something similar. I honestly don't know how I would respond if mine said that to me. My doctor wouldn't have done that though.

I just texted him and he said he's pretty sure the doctor was just joking. So at least in his case it didn't happen, but who knows about other doctors out there.

Someone at my husbands work told his wife's doctor to add another stitch while the doctor was down there.I'd kill my husband if he said something like that 🤷🏻♀️If a woman's vagina doesn't get more loose during sex, you're not doing it right. Yup. I'd be gone. That is so insensitive and just disturbing for a partner to ask for that. The same guy tried to tell my husband that he's lucky since I had a csection I wasn't "messed up". 🙄🙄 I pray that mans wife leaves him.

Interesting. I'd assume doctors didn't mention it because it's seen as procedure? Or just didn't know that it should be noticed since it's just stitching and you are aware that you are being stitched up regardless if it's one more or one less. Still bit messed up to give it a name like that and do that for men's pleasure, without actual consent.
I given birth 5 times. I’ve been stitched to high heaven 4 times. The last occasion I didn’t need stitches 🙌🏻 My husband had to work to get it in after 6 weeks. I do my kegels. This extra stitch garbage is offensive! If a woman wants vaginal rejuvenation for her own pleasure cool!

My fifth delivery was the worst pain! And my third I had horrible back labor, with pitocin. You can have one or 20...labor and delivery sucks!

I think the actual thought of labor and delivery scares any sane person when they think about it. Even with my second--after knowing what to expect--as I neared the delivery date I wondered what in the world I was thinking to volunteer to go through it again.

I've heard of it. If a woman wants it done herself that's fine but I hate the idea that this could be done without the woman's consent.I had a 3rd degree tear with my first, and I understand it's...chaotic...to sort through layers of jagged bloody tissue to stitch you up right (yea, I had interior tissue that became exterior tissue...that was "super fun" for awhile). As far as I know everything was done as normal as possible. My husband didn't report any change in tightness.
My friend noticed this while she was healing after birth. She said it was like it was stitched shut or it felt that way. The first time she had sex she felt like she was being stabbed with a knife in her vagina. And her SO said it was "too tight" So she had to go have it cut back open and fixed up so she could have sex again. She couldn't even use tampons because it hurt so bad.
