Positive Test with Ectopic?

Will it take longer to get a positive test if it is an ectopic pregnancy?

Answer

I had an ectopic that resulted in the loss of my tube and baby on July 25th. I had unprotected sex June 21st, tested positive June 29th, began bleeding June 30th. I treated that as a miscarriage... I woke up July 25th about 3am in excruciating/debilitating pain and was rushed to the hospital where they did a pregnancy test to "rule out" which came up positive to our shock. They gave me an ultrasound stat and... I saw too much to say the least... within a half hour I was an emergency transport and in surgery.
