Online Dating: is it just me!?

I’ve been single for a while now and I use a dating app to meet guys. I’m not super young anymore, I’m 34, so I’m expecting to meet mature, responsible men who want serious relationships but...where are they?
I’ve met several guys online who are my age or older who are asking for nude photos like they’re talking to some teenager or something, like really?! How are you 40 and asking me for pics of my boobs and you don’t even know me? Or asking me to touch his 🍆 on the first date. I just don’t understand. Granted, some people probably do this but not I, said the cat. 
Has anyone had this experience? I’m hoping there is a decent guy out there for me somewhere but he’s hard to find, thus far.

I met my fiance on Zoosk. But prior to meeting him I had a few experiences like that but completely ignored them. I only ever replied to the guys who seemed much more "gentlemanly" or actually serious in looking for a relationship. I would usually talk to them for a little while using the app chat. But my fiance was the only one I actually spoke with on the phone and went on a date with.

My dad is having the opposite problem. He's 45 and trying online dating sites. A lot of women either start off by sending him nudes or asking for sex. He instantly blocks them. I'm 27 so he's been telling me all kinds of crazy stories.

I'm married so I don't have personal experience but my sister who is 28 now has definitely had soooo many of these experiences! She feels that she's almost 30 and the guys she's interested in should have grown up a bit by now. I think it's just the way the world is, unfortunately. She said there are good ones but they are few and far between. Like a 20/1 ratio. I agree with what others have said about paid apps vs free ones.

I met my fiancé (husband in 4 days!!) on OkCupid. I really liked their website because it asks you the comparability questions similar to eHarmony but it's actually FREE!! 
POF used to be my go to for a long time, a few years, and I had no luck- mostly just found guys looking for a hook up or that were Already in relationships

I had the same experience, but noticed it much less on the paid sites. I noticed it still don’t get me wrong haha there are always those men who are in it for the wrong reasons. 
But I have to encourage you to stick with it, I met my husband on match.ca and we have been together for over 5 years now and going strong! You never know when you will find the right one, so just delete and move past those 🍆’S and keep searching for your mr. Right!!!

I went through the same thing after my divorce...it seems at our age alot of the guys still on dating apps are single for a reason or just looking for something sleazy. those free apps are full of creepers.  I'd say if they're willing to pay for a sight they might have their sights set a little higher then just a booty call. I did get lucky and found an amazing guy off of POF and have been dating two yrs...i think it was a fluke!! Lol good luck...enjoy single life and you'll be found by someone amazing when u least expect it because ur your most beautiful when you are happy and fulfilled with you first.
