No Kids Allowed

Should a landlord be able to say "No Kids Allowed"? Just like they can say no pets allowed? In a way that can seem like apples to oranges. This was a concern at 2 places I've looked at in the past. Their reasoning? It their home that they allow us to rent so they have a say on if they want kids or pets running around destroying a place. Now I know kids can be destructive but can you honestly say they're THAT destructive. To a point they're not allowed?
