the hardest part of raising twins? you may be surprised.
It's hard raising twins. Yes, they cry at the same time and it's always an adventure figuring out how to console them... Yes, it can take an hour-and-a-half to two hours just to feed them, and I'm usually pumping at some point during all of that just to make it more complicated (and they feed every 3hrs,so do the math, very limited non-feeding time) ... Yes, you barely sleep (see feeding schedule)... Yes, lots of laundry and dishes just to maintain their daily needs... But the hardest part is not having enough quality downtime with each of them, the time that makes all the hard work worthwhile. The time that I'd spend singing, reading, practicing tummy time, cuddling, giving massages? Well, you just don't get that. It's depressing. I sometimes get jealous if I have a visitor and they get to do all of those things, because that's what people wanna do when they visit babies. They play and try to make them laugh and while I have a free moment I am trying to clean or shower, or entertain. No one lends an extra hand so mom can love her babies. How have other moms dealt with this?
