Question

does having sperm inside you affect the results in a pregnancy test? AF is due in 2 days, hubby and I had sex last night and obviously he finished inside me. Took a test this morning and it came out negative. I will retest the day AF is due but just wanted answers 🙃

Pregnancy tests check for the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin (“hcg”) which is produced by the placenta/once the embryo implants. Hcg levels aren’t high enough to be detected until about a week after fertilization, at the earliest. So no, sperm or other hormones (birth control, etc) won’t affect pregnancy tests, since that’s not what the tests measure. 
Also FYI though, if you’re only 2 days before expected AF, you’re probably not in your fertile window anyways. If you’re TTC you should have sex during the part of your cycle prior to and during ovulation, as the egg only lasts for ~24 hours after it is released. This is typically about 2 weeks before your expected AF, but you can track your BBT, CM, and ovulation test strips to get a more accurate idea of when you actually ovulate.
