I had an epidural with my first and it really was amazing, however for 8 months after giving birth I had the WORST spinal tap migraines from the epidural. I wish I would have done more research on the side effects before getting it. I opted to not get one with my second child and although the pain sucked it was by far the best delivery ever! My son wasn't drugged up and I instantly was up and walking around feeling great. It was so empowering going all natural. It was just a few hours of pain and then it was over! If you can do it without an epidural then go for it!

Having an epidural definitely saved me while I was in labor, I wasn't mentally or physically prepared to have a non medicated labor and birth. So for me personally, it was wonderful!

I told my midwife no thank you. My body knows what to do, and I plan to have a water birth. My mom, who did not have one, told me I'll be totally fine since I grew up having severe stomach cramps. That is one positive to those medical issues!

I planned on going through labor without it but I ended up in back labor and I already have problems. So it was excruciating for me. I ended up with the epidural and I’m SO glad I got it. It really allowed me to be present throughout labor and delivery and present with my daughter when she came out. I wasn’t spending my time in pain. I could actually enjoy those first moments with her.

i had one with both of my pregnancies. my second labor lasted 24 hours, so by the 3rd dose right before my daughter was born, it didnt work and I felt everything!!! but it was worth it to get me through the long labor.

I am not getting one cuz my mom had a bad experience with it and I have bulging and compressed discs so they run a higher risk of hitting something that they don't need to hit
