What pain meds did they give you after you gave birth?

Also, pain meds are making me constipated but obviously I need to take them. I’m also taking stool softeners. When will I be able to go to the bathroom? And is it gonna hurt ?

I went home with Percocet after my c-section and had a painless bowel movement on day 4 pp

I had a c-section and was given Tylenol and oxycodone for pain and stool softener. I think my first bm was 2 or 3 days after giving birth and wasn’t painful. My incision wasn’t too painful just achy inside.

800 mg of Motrin every 8 hours in the hospital the first day. The second day I only asked for it as needed and now I barely take any.

They gave me Percocet and was doing Colace in the hospital. I didn’t have a bowel movement for 9 days. I restarted Colace on day 7 :/

after my c section the first 24 hours instant told I can take anything or asked how much pain I was in. it wasn't until the covering Dr cam and visited me and told me I can take stuff and got me stuff right away. the nurses were very sure to ask how much pain I was in after that.. I had a very traumatic after csection experience needless to say...

They offered me narcotics but I didn't take them. Just Motrin.

I was given a script for ibuprofen and colace for afterwards. He said if that wasn't enough I could get a script for norco but that's too extreme for me. The pain meds from the hospital do make you constipated which is why they prescribe the colace. Keep taking that until well after you're out of the hospital because BM hurt while you heal and you'll continue to be on pain meds after you leave the hospital. I think it took me a few days to have a BM and from what I remember it hurt like hell.

They had given me narco when I had my first, which was a little too strong because it knocked me smooth out. They also have me a stool softener to take, even after I left the hospital. I had my first BM 3 days after having my son, it didn’t hurt, but only because I didn’t force it out. I waited till I knew I couldn’t hold it in anymore, I went into the bathroom and just kinda let it come out, no pushing or anything (I know that sounds really gross, but it helped) after a week being home I was able to go to the bathroom normally.

They didn’t give me anything and I don’t think I would take it either. It seems like it would just further impede the natural healing process.
