So I’ve been on the nexplanon implant for just under two years now and ever since I got it I have been getting side effects like erratic mental health and I’ve not had a period since March 2016.

Mostly because of the frustration of not having a period, I really want to change my birth control method.

Here’s the thing though, the thought of anything going inside me like the coil or IUD makes me feel really squeamish and uncomfortable, I really don’t want that. I’d be fine with the injection but I’m positive it’s the same hormone used in the injection and implant so I’d probably still have the same side effects I guess? I’d be fine with using the pill but I’m nervous that I’d forget to take it.

If anyone has any advice on how they decided on their method of birth control I’d really appreciate it!
