How the real contractions feel?

I'm 40 weeks today and I had my membrane stripped on my appointment this afternoon. I'm having lower back pain and also like period cramps but a little stronger. They are 3 minutes apart and last about one minute or 2 min each. I don't know what to do. Should I wait to go to the hospital? doctor told me that I was only 3cm dilated:/ any advice?

sounds like labor. contractions are just period cramps on steroids. i had back labor and front labor. time them, call your doctor and they'll tell you when yo go in.

I was supposed to get induced on a friday march 3rd, so my family had gotten a hotel room but on thursday, my last appointment, I had gotten my membrane stripped, I was only dilated to a 3. That friday, while I was at the hotel, the nurses called me at 8am, telling me that I wouldn't get induced until monday because of the number of bed that were available. From 8 to 11 on friday, I was breathing like a cow, crouching down, walking funny, moaning, stomach pains, back pain and leaning over. The contractions were a couple minutes apart than they grew 30 seconds apart. When i got to the hospital, I was dilated to a 5. i had my son at 2:01pm on march 3rd.
