Spotting vs. light period

Krystal • TTC since February 2014. Miscarriage at 7 weeks on Dec 4 2015, 2009 son, 2018 daughter
I've always only considered it spotting if it was only when I wipe or just not enough to really need a tampon. If a light tampon could last all day and still not full would you consider that spotting or light period?
