I'm getting the IUD?

Question

any pros and cons I should be worried about? and how many years should I get it for? any info is much appreciated. I've only ever taken the pill and am very sceptical about this one.

I love mine. No kids but I knew we were going to want to start trying within the next few years so I opted for the liletta (skyla is very similar.) The only complaint I had was the insertion hurt so bad I nearly punched the nurse. My SO wasn't in the room and I wish he had been.  I lived on my heating pad for the next few weeks popping ibuprofen like they were tictacs. Now, that being said. I have a tilted uterus and am a big baby with pain. Most people feel like a big cramp and the next day are fine. Just take ibuprofen before you go in and dp it on a day you won't have to go to work. Also, give it time to settle. I know a lot of people who got it removed before letting themselves adjust. I was tempted the first month but I told myself to try it for 3 months.

I didn't know they had different sizes. does that go with the number of years? do they use something to insert it? I'm already nervous thinking about it. and I'm used to pain because my man is bigger.

Paraguard hurt me it was too large... it also makes you more vulnerable to infections, gives a weird smell down there... and hurts if your partner goes in too deep or too hard. Heavier flow, INTENSE cramps... but it’s pretty much saying you WILL NOT get pregnant so no fears there... if you’re scared about pregnancy, give it a try. Yeah, I took mine out after a year. I couldn’t handle all the discomfort. I suggest a smaller one but I really don’t like the idea of the IUD releasing hormones. I love mine! I’m getting it out next month since we’re going to start trying. Have you had babies before? If not you’ll want the smaller ones.
