Depends on what happened. If they’re dangerous I’d send them to a boarding home. I’d never just put my child out on the streets with nothing. I mean unless the little fuck was a serial killer, then I’d have to kill him myself and burry the body so technically that’d be kicking them out right??

No- because there are other options for bad behavior; rehab, juvie, boarding school, boot camp. I think kicking them out would only make whatever problem I had with their behavior worse. I was kicked out a month after turning 18- with no where to go and no heads up, I was technically an adult, but still felt like a child- it was so scary and confusing, and I was very lucky to have a bf (my fiancé now) who took me in.

I think it's super wrong to kick your kids out. Unless they are a straight up danger to the family (even then there are options for help for that kid), i can't see why you would abandon your kid. You wouldn't kick a 10 year old out, so why would you kick out a 16 year old.

Nope, I'm the one who signed up to be a parent. ......... Also legally how does that work without putting them up for adoption, or emancipated? You can't just throw them out.

Being a social worker and working with the homeless population it never good when kids get kicked out. Their lives are much harder and it difficult from them to come out of the with no support from family. Believe me I understand there hard to work with. But kids with support are much better off in the long run. There are tons of programs out there. You need to figure out the cause of the behaviour to fix it. Are they using drugs? Etc and work with fixing that issue.

It depends. It really does, like if my kid tried to destroy my house or something I wouldn't hesitate in calling the cops. Or if they decided to do drugs I'd put them in rehab. I don't really know...my mother almost sent me to a military school when I was younger. I don't have kids so I don't know how to react. I don't tolerate BS though.

No way, there are plenty of resources and other options if the kid is a danger to themselves and/or others. Kicking them out wouldn't solve anything at all! Plus, I'm a pretty firm believer that a kid is a product of their environment, there other factors, sure, but I feel like if my kids an asshole then it's probably my fault.

Never. My mom put my brother in a group home when he was 15 because he was doing dumb teenage shit. That action ruined his life. It exposed him to even worse people and he never recovered. I was 11 and became hyper conscious of being "perfect" so she wouldn't get rid of me too.

Just from a logical point of view.. where would they go? It seems like they only have bad choices to make when being kicked out.

No like wtf you raised them. If you have a problem with their behavior, you’re the parent so fix it. And I’m saying this after watching my mom struggle to help my sister who was extremely destructive during her teens years. My mom would be in tears because of the stuff she was doing. She could have given up and you know what? My sister would probably be dead if she had. But instead she helped her and got professional help when she didn’t know what to do. That’s what parenting is about.
