Will I survive without much help?

Question

I am looking for stories/ positive vibes from twin parents who survived without help from family. I am due with twins in march and I do not anticipate having much help from family. How bad will it really be?! Every time I talk to someone they tell me how much help and support i need but I think it's really going to be mostly me and my husband.

I moved last year from NYC to FL where I have no family or friends here to help. I’m 35w with boy/girl twins. I never even had a drivers license bc it wasn’t needed where I lived so other than my appointments with my MFM that my husband will take a break from work, I go to all my other appointments by Uber. I know eventually  I will have to get a license bc i can’t exactly bring 2 infants to appointments and errands in an Uber. One of my doctor has twins and told me the trick is to get the on the same schedule. When one wakes to eat, wake the other. Start a tandem schedule as soon as they are born. Good luck. I feel like if we can survive a twin pregnancy we can survive anything.

All our family is out of town. They’ve come a couple times but mostly it’s just my husband and I and we have been fine. The key though is that my husband is very involved and splitting everything 50/50 with me and I don’t have to tell him to do things. He’s the best! Our twins are a month old today and so far we feel like we’ve managed pretty well. There have been a couple of rough nights but we just work together as a team and try to laugh instead of stress. If you can afford any kind of professional help (housecleaning, meal service, etc.) that would make a big difference too! Perhaps we’re lucky to have pretty calm babies but I think twins are absolutely manageable with just two involved parents.

I have twin girls there 4 now I found it so easy 😊 I co slept them together till they were 2 years old they sooth each other and best advice I have is demand feed the one that wakes first and wake the other after or you will be up all the time x I was alone I had 2 other children to look after as well as the twins an I found it quite easy remember to take help wen u can a friend pops in ask if they can watch the bbys why u sneak for a bath 😊
