Is it rude to ask sum1 to throw you a shower?

It’s my first baby.. and even tho I was heavily involved with my sisters and friends showers and pregnancies.. it feels like since I’m the last one to have my first child that nobody seems to care much..
I’m 20 weeks and I even cry because I feel like I’m gonna have to throw my own shower or beg someone else to do it.
I don’t want to miss out on the memories of having one with my first child..
Am I alone in feeling this way?

Like, what? Showers first of all, aren't mandatory. If someone wants to throw you one then great, but honestly many people and many cultures don't have them. 
So if you want one and no one is throwing you one then 🤷🏼‍♀️. Or throw one yourself.

Why can’t you throw your own and ask for help?

You can throw your own shower and just ask people if they can help you. For example my shower is in 2 weeks and my mother in-law is making the food and my mom is bringing the drinks and my sister in-law is doing the games and the cake. Me and my husband will be just renting tables and chairs and getting some decorations. It's easier to ask for help than to have someone do it all in my opinion.

If you're only 20 weeks you still have a while. Give them a chance. It's still a bit early to start planning a shower.

Throw your own and ask for help- you can have decoration crafting parties, ask family members to make special dishes to bring, and even start a Pinterest for it to share ideas. Once you get the ball rolling others will likely step in to help. I'm "throwing my own", but my mom is helping me with making decorations, and other family members are going to bring food.

If someone wants to help n do it they will, my family is Mexican lol n I'm having their first granddaughter, my bfs side of the family are the ones who are going to be doing the baby shower because they want too,  along with my mom n his aunts, if they didn't want to do anything I would personally just ask them to help plan it n stuff

I pretty much had to throw my own and honestly was a bit upset that no one offered to throw it for me especially when friends/family wanted me to have one and we been super low on money it was very stressful trying to get everything together especially when people backed out on things with it or didn’t show up.. so no it’s not really rude in my option I was told by a few people I shouldn’t of had to throw my own shower that usually it’s someone that does it for you.

It depends on who you're asking. If it's your mom or your sisters, that's not rude. They're family! But anyone else? Yeah, I probably wouldn't.

I feel it’s rude to ask also.. just makes me upset because I was asked by a few of these ppl and I threw their baby showers for more than one kid sometimes.. 
I spent a lot of my own money and time doing this..
Just kinda sucks that it’s not offered..
And I know it’s not mandatory to have one, but it’s my first baby and I feel it’s important, not to mention I could use the help/diapers etc.
