Are multiple miscarriages common?

It seems like I have seen a lot of posts on here of women having 2+ miscarriages (I have had 2 myself). Is it really that common, or is it just that women like us are more likely to turn to something like Glow for support?

I've had 3 myself. Two chemicals in a row and then an 11 week MMC in February. I think I've seen more women on here with multiple losses because it's hard to find people who understand us out in the real world. This really is a great resource.

It's common to have one miscarriage, but it is not common to have multiple miscarriages. I have had three consecutive miscarriages. Only one percent have three in a row. I think it's just more likely that women with multiple miscarriages use this forum.

My preachers wife has had 7 miscarriages and she has 3 kids. Praying for you! My mom had 3 and so I'm wondering if it is genetic.

1 in 4 women will have a miscarriage/stillbirth/infant loss. 
1 IN 4. That's a huge number.

Yes and no. I have had 3 miscarriages and one chemical...
Once you have three statistically speaking there are not many others who have had three. Something I read was like 1 in 1,000 people have had 3 miscarriages. What's funny is that here on glow I have read a lot of people having 3 or more. Out in my reality or life I do not know one person that has had three.
As for chemicals, I agree with the other comment, if you test earlier than you should it could end up being. Chemical.

I've had 2 MC, a chemical, and then a blighted ovum. I think it's all about selected sampling- you will find multiple MC sufferers in this forum. General population no though, I've yet to meet someone who's lost more than 1.
Being a statistical anomaly sucks.

I'm having my second now.  My best friend had two before her son...but my other best friend had none and has two girls.

I think multiple mc are less common than one, but also that we're more likely to need support (like nurture or glow) when we have had 1+ losses.

Another co-sign on Francesca's great comment. I had a chemical last month at 4w3d and I never would have known if I wasn't the type to test at 10dpo. We knew for a week and suffered the heartache when I lost the pregnancy. That was my second loss. My first was my daughter her body stopped growing at 18w but her heart kept trying till 23w.

I've had 5. Going thru a mc right now actually.... but this time I didn't even know I was pregnant. Went to the er because my "period cramps" were beyond painful (I have endometriosis so I have painful periods) and it came back that.. yes I was pregnant, but guess what. Not anymore.... it's so depressing. But gotta deal with it. Doesn't help either that everyone around me keeps telling me to get on birth control even when they know we're trying for a baby. Sorry for the rant. Just really pisses me off.

I've had one. I'm 10 weeks now. Healthy so far.
