We've been trying for a baby for about 18 months
We've been trying for a baby for about 18 months. Having had no luck, we consulted an endocrinologist, Dr. Arlene Morales, in San Diego. We did all the testing and were both surprised and relieved to find out we were both healthy and all tests results came back confirming everything being normal, if not better. The caveat? That everything was normal, if not better, thus the doctor could only chalk up our lack of success to "unexplained."
We ended up deciding we'd try for a couple more months naturally, then going the Clomid/AI route before IVF.
This month, June, would have been our last month at trying naturally.
I took the OTs daily as soon as my last period ended and continued to take them even after I popped positive for ovulation back on 06/04/14. The only difference this time? I was less stressed, more relaxed and thought less about the whole baby making process. I know it sounds like a cliché, but it is true, and obviously effective. Imagine my surprise when 2 weeks later I spotted a tiny bit. I'm not a spotter, nor has there ever been a gray area with me, test result-wise. AF either visits or she doesn't; tests are either positive or negative, period.
So this morning, 06/18/14, I took both a bitstrip and CBE Digital pregnancy test and hallelujah, PREGNANT. The bitstrip results were a bit iffy for me as one line was much lighter than the other, but there's no mistaking the digital words, "PREGNANT," on the CBE Digital test. And this was tested on 2nd (morning) urine.
I've since scheduled an appointment with my doctor to get a blood test just to put my mind fully at ease, but either way, we're so excited to finally enter this chapter of our lives together and we sincerely hope and pray for success for all of you out there also trying to have a baby.
