You don't decide what kind of abortion, depending on how far along you are they either perform a medical abortion through pills and medications or they do a surgical one if you're to far in advance. Call planned parenthood and make an appointment for as soon as they have openings, once there they do piss or blood test to have a better idea how far along you are and then they go from there. Good luck.
Please help.

I’m 18, and have just found out that I am 2-3 weeks pregnant. I’m definitely going to have an abortion as I know I cannot offer this child all the love and attention that he/she will need.
Please share your experience to help me decide which kind of abortion I should get.

Cool, in my experiences both times i was about 5 weeks the doctor said he was not going to do a surgical because there was no need for such an intrusive method and go inside your vagina so we went straight to the medical one, a couple pills on a Friday and i was back at work on Monday. I guess every clinic is different 🤷🏻♀️

You can choose which type you want as long as your not 10 weeks or more. You can have medical abortion up to 10 weeks or you can choose to have a surgical one

True that, you might want to take another one to make sure or just get a blood test

I had a surgical abortion when I was 16, I found out about 4 weeks, there was no other option than abortion due to my age and circumstances. The nurses were so friendly, you don’t feel judged or anything. The actual procedure wasn’t too bad, I think the worst bit was the bleeding after but it only lasted about 10 days.Don’t feel like you have to explain yourself only you can decide what is best for you❤️

Thank you so much! I’m quite scared for the surgical abortion. I’ve decided on it, but did you feel anything during it?

You DO get a choice in what type of abortion you get. Lots of people prefer the pill as its a "do at home" situation, but that comes with intense cramps and bleeding for days. I almost got one and i was going to choose the surgical route, its an in office procedure, youre in there for a couple of hours but when youre done, thats the end of it. Maybe some slight cramping, but no where near as bad as the pill. I did end up choosing to keep her, but thats your own decision. Good luck!!

You can take pain killers like ibuprofen, they don’t cause more bleeding.

I dont think you can take pain killers with it because of how much your bleeding, pain killers mostly thin blood so some serious damage could happen, but im not a medical professional so im not 100%. As far as ive heard, its like a super heavy, god awful period for 4-5 days until the embryo comes out.

Thank you so much Nicole, I’m actually considering the pill, do the painkillers help? Or can they help? How painful is it? Could you compare the pain to something ?

when I was 18 I fell pregnant from a one night stand, and I ended up having an abortion at 7 weeks, it was surgical. you go in the day before and they will tell you the options and tell you how both procedures work. my experience was I went to the clinic they called me back, and offered for me to hear the heartbeat and get an ultrasound picture, which I refused both because I just couldn't deal with it. after that they drew some blood and gave me a Valium, when I went back for the procedure a nurse was with me and she was actually very comforting, she held my hand and talked me through it, it wasn't too painful.. felt like cramps, than they laid me down in a room for an hour and gave me some juice and told me to relax, they check your bleeding and make sure your healthy and send you home with a prescription that just helps make sure everything cleans out good. i bled just like a normal period and it was over. I will say that even though I refused the picture they gave me one anyways in an envelope when I was leaving. I personally chose to keep the abortion a secret the few people who knew I was pregnant thought I miscarried, and I didn't tell anyone till years later. now my feelings later on are very different I just want to put out there make sure you think of everything and do what you think is best... I realized, not to long afterwards that I was just very scared of being a single mother at the age of 18, and I didn't think about the positives and I have regretted it and still think about it. I still have the ultra sound picture in my book, and at the age of 23 I am in a very good place for my age, and have been ttc with no luck.

Your test looks faulty, but I’ve never had an abortion so I’m no help there...

it's thinking about the number of weeks. pregnant pops up first then thinks for a minute about weeks.
