++ 8 days before expected period

I just thought.... hey I'm in target why not grab a test. My period isn't due until 10/31. It came up + right away. My best friend said to me "there is no way you got such a + that many days before you are due...". But... I did! Do you think all is well, or I'm further along? My last period was light but I had taken test that were negative.
